The Internet Is Full. Thanks For Surfing.

Are you freaking out about creating new content all the time?  Stop!

The web is chock full of content.  The time is ripe for content curation.  Search engines and social sharing are pretty good for discovering new content, but they both miss the mark when it comes to context and content that is truly relevant and useful to the searcher.

Social sharing allows for discovery of new content, but without context.  A friend shares a blog post with you, but it is only as useful and interesting to you as luck would have it.  Meaning, at the time the content is shared, you may of may not have time or interest in it the moment you see the link.  It may be interesting and useful to you later, but not right now.

Search allows discovery of content that has been deemed worthy by the search engine in the top 10-20 results.  This can be useful to searchers in many ways, but often produces results searchers are not looking for.  Because of the time it takes for search engines to rank new content, along with how they decide content deserves ranking, search falls short, especially with developing trends.

The third major method of discovery online is through sites that curate content around different topics that surfers are interested in.  They filter the good from the bad and present what surfers want most:  the best information on a topic gleaned from the massive amount of total content produced on that topic.

HuffingtonPost.com is a curation site.  Mashable.com is a curation site.  Two of the most popular blogs on the planet.

People are hungry for filters they can trust to bring them only the best information on topics they are interested in.  Often this requires little to no origninal content development around topics.  Just filtering through the latest information on a topic and organizing it into blog posts with a bit of commentary on their part.

It is a service with real value.  The reward is a tight following and lots of recommendations from readers who appreciate how well you curate the content in your chosen market.  The same rewards that 100% pure content creators receive, without having to become a full-time writer and researcher.  8835TXBDKWR6
