Jaws were dropping this morning when Jerry West, Keynote Speaker for Mike Woo Ming’s Traffic Tactics Workshop, dropped some very insider SEO wisdom on the crowd.
Seriously, this guy is a true search engine optimization guru. There are only really a handful of them in the world. Everyone else is a hobbyist compared to guys like Jerry who breaks sites and servers for a living just to find out what Google thinks of his tests.
SEO people hardly ever test. The vast majority of them parrot what people like Jerry say and then call themselves SEO experts.
The reason I know Jerry is a detailed testing and tracking addict is the results he was showing up on the screen this morning.
No one could make this stuff up. What he has to say about Google vs. Yahoo and MSN blew some people away today too.
I’m not leaking too much if I tell you he has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Google is the only place to get organic result traffic.
What does it mean when you can knock off a couple search engines on your radar and use that time to do effective organic marketing?
Liberation! I wrote off the “other two” a while back when I realized you clearly have to pay to show up anywhere important on those “engines.”
This is one of many tactics Jerry shared. I was blown away because most SEO “experts” bore me to tears with their regurgitation of the painfully obvious.
The short story here is that you missed a killer presentation that is going to make people here blow their current unique visits records out of the water.
