Google Buys Rights to Algorithm Orion? and How to Design For It

FTR Subscribers Get A Free Link!

One of the big pieces of news this week is about Google acquiring a killer new algorithm called Orion that finds topics related to the keyword you type in and returns more relevant “additional” information related to your topic.

In the article above, the author talks about the implications and how we as website publishers should be designing our sites to take advantage of future searches including this type of formula.

Lo and behold, the language is very similar to what I have been saying for a year:

Design your sites for your visitors, NOT the search engines, and you will turn out sites that rank better and immediately please your visitors so that they view your site as an authority among all the others, including the 400,000+ sites that simply have a keyword stuffed in them.

Visitors who find authority sites frequent them again and again. Therefore you don’t have to struggle for the life of your site to find new visitors who, in turn, visit once and never return.

Good authority sites can live very well off far less traffic (because of visitors who come back again and again) than sites that have to constantly fish for more and more “fresh” traffic because their site sucks and no one ever comes back.

By designing high quality authority sites, publishers are realizing that they are not only making good profits from advertising, products and services, and memberships in the short-term, but that they also have a killer exit strategy when a big company takes notice and offers to buy them out.

The only exit strategy a publisher who builds adsense-only sites with no real content and no sticky factor is: going out of business.

When publishers in the spam/content-less site model haven’t the strength anymore to fight the current and constantly look for ways to get new visitors, they are left with absolutely nothing of value.

Building true assets, authority sites, pretty much guarantees you will have something of far more value when you are ready to “retire” from publishing and cash out.

Loyal users, high traffic, stand-out content, products, and services…this is what is and always will sell very well both with visitors and future investors who want what you have, and who will pay a lot for it.

The only group on the internet dedicated 100% to this kind of professional publishing is at Content Desk. Although there is automation involved in all of the sites we build, you’d never be able to tell the difference between a member’s site and a site that is 100% human edited.  (Almost no authority site on the web is 100% human edited anymore, by the way.)

In fact we only use tools similar to what the major news and RSS distribution centers use to fill THEIR sites with active, dynamic, relevant content.

We are getting ready to shut down Content Desk Publisher’s Alliance for a month to all new subscribers. We have new software coming out and are moving the whole site to a new version of VisionGate.  (this won’t affect current members in any way while we are closed to new members)

If you are at all interested in the professional side of content site publishing, act now or wait till the doors open again with new software for site building and a new home to give members more of what they love: professional, lucrative content publishing tactics that are only taught at the Content Publishers Alliance.

Spread the love
