Digg Tool Helps Find Stories You Want

Moderate to heavy Digg users are buzzing about Digg’s promise to have a sort of recommended stories function added to their toolbox.

According to Read/WriteWeb it would work kind of like StumbleUpon does, following your patterns of diggs, burys and submissions to come up with possible stories you might be interested in as well.

The problem with people who are really into their news (hence the popularity of the “Upcoming” section of Digg for people who can’t wait to see what might make the front page) soon is not soon enough.

Dmytro Mulyava agreed with that sentiment and programmed his own Digg Filter. He is interviewed by Muhammad Saleem, a social authority on several social news sites, about the new program.

The only problem I had with the filter is the amount of activity required for the filter to determine what I might like. Apparently I haven’t been active enough to have it return better results than it did for me. For power users it would probably have more targeted results.

Spread the love
