I’ve been playing with the Woo Theme called City Guide on my local site. Actually, I just launched it this week.
The theme allows you to build a local directory of businesses, non-profits, groups and interesting places in your area.
I monetized it by adding a couple of featured listing options for $30 and $90 per month. Businesses can get an optimized, media-rich listing, and, with local SEO the way it is, an almost guaranteed top 10 result in the engines.
It’s a bargain for local businesses and a great tool for local bloggers to monetize their site effectively.
