As we head deeper into 2026, AI’s not just a tool anymore, it’s the infrastructure. It’s faster than you, it’s cheaper than you, and it doesn’t need a coffee break to figure out how to out-rank your competition.
For 28 years, I’ve made my living by spotting where the crowd is going before they get there. I’ve seen the next big thing turn into a dying cow more times than I can count, and right now, most people are milking a cow that’s already in the wood chipper.
The Death of the Middle Man
The global job market is currently going through a seismic shift. If you are a middleman whose only value is transferring data from point A to point B, you are in the crosshairs.
This is especially true for the traditional digital marketing agency. For years, the agency model was built on button-pushing, manual bidding, keyword research, and social media scheduling. But by now, the platforms themselves, Google, Meta, and TikTok, have absorbed that labor. Their internal AI agents can optimize a campaign in real-time better than any human account manager sitting in a cubicle.
Getting Yourself to Higher Ground: The Exponential Value of the Human Hand
But here’s the single biggest wave that’s about to hit, and it’s one most people are missing: the exponentially rising value of human-generated anything.
As the web becomes a deluge of AI slop, low-quality, synthetic content designed to satisfy an algorithm rather than a person, the market is already beginning to rebel. We’re already seeing the rise of services dedicated solely to testing for and rejecting AI-generated content. People are fed up with the digital wallpaper. They are already starving for something that feels like it was created by a human with a pulse.
This is the ultimate irony of the AI age: as AI grows, so too does your value as a human creator. We are moving into an era where human-created will be the ultimate luxury brand.
The 90% Graveyard and the Relief Valve
To survive, you have to move to rise above the battlefield where all the carnage is already taking place. Jobs and agencies are being replaced at a breakneck pace. You have to pivot to the only territory AI is still struggling to conquer: human connection.
This is why I am betting everything on podcasting. In a world of automated noise, a human-led podcast is a biological receipt. You cannot speed-read conviction. You cannot skim a genuine thought process. When you listen to a long-form conversation, you are listening to a soul think, breathe, and stumble in real-time.
Authenticity Sells
Whether you are a nonprofit professional, an author, coach, or legal pro, or someone who sees the writing on the wall for the work that you do being replaces by AI, here’s some great news: There is a way to immunize yourself from whatever comes your way, build your business, and thrive.
Human conversation, connection, and passion cannot be touched by AI. And now more than ever, people need to talk. We need to connect with our audiences in meaningful ways. If you do this using a podcast as the “campfire” that you gather a growing audience around, you can sell and prosper.
